The wait is finally over.
One of the most hyped films of all time, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, has opened in cinemas around the world — a decade after the last episode of the epic space saga.
After months of teaser trailers that raised more questions than answers, and Monday's Hollywood premiere from which the celebrity audience emerged smiling but sworn to secrecy, fans finally have their chance to see the film.
The first full reviews have started to appear online after the midnight (US time) embargo was lifted on Wednesday.
